If you have any information about a dog fitting the below description please contact the Education and Regulations Coordinator Ben Masterman on 0408 517 534.

Medium size, strong build, black short hair, silver choker collar.

Appeared to be an American Pitbull or similar - see photo (image courtesy of alamy.com).

This dog came out of nowhere and ran into the bushes and had just bitten a wallaby when a walker was able to scare it off. The wallaby was bleeding but hopped away. If you have any information about either animal please get in touch asap. Confidentiality assured.

Dogs are welcome in this part of Wellington Park, but PLEASE always on a lead only. Even if your dog is trained, or good, or just playing, or doesn't chase animals, etc.
After speaking to the Dog Training Club I have been given to understand that training is fairly context-specific so that even the best trained dogs, if they're in an environment where they weren't trained in the relevant skills, can have their primal instincts triggered by a delicious furry snack suddenly leaping out of the bush.

PLEASE LET THIS BE A REMINDER TO KEEP YOUR DOG, PUPPY, PUPPER OR DOGGO ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES WHEN IN THE DOG-FRIENDLY AREAS OF WELLINGTON PARK.

Meanwhile, many thanks to all the responsible dog owners out there, 99% of whom do the right thing!
