Pinnacle Track Open!

Re-opening of the Pinnacle Track, kunanyi  / Mt Wellington

After five months of intensive restoration work, the City of Hobart has re-opened Pinnacle Track on kunanyi / Mt Wellington to the public. This completes stage two of the
“Rejuvenating the Great Short Walk” project. Both the Organ Pipes and Pinnacle tracks are now open to the public.

The City is now working on the final stage of this project, the Chalet Connection, a new 150 metre track section replacing the current steep steps at the Chalet. The new track
will have a gentler grade to make the Organ Pipes and boulder fields more accessible. The work will also include new picnic facilities at the Chalet. The final stage is planned to be
completed by Christmas 2018.

Your cooperation and patience during the restoration phases has been appreciated.

Kind regards
