The Parks and Wildlife Service has had to close the Myrtle Forest Picnic Area toilet due to a technical fault.
Temporary alternative arrangements and a long term solution are already being investigated.

The draft Fern Tree Park Visitor Node Master Plan is now available for public comment until 5 December 2016 . The Master Plan includes Fern Tree Park, Fern Tree Bower, Silver Falls, Fern Glade quarry car park and the network of tracks that connect these sites.

We advise all park visitors to install the Emergency + app on your smartphone and carry it at all times.
Two planned burns successfully completed. All walking tracks and fire trails in the burn areas are now open to the public.
The Wellington Park Management Trust has approved the conversion of Old Farm Track from shared use to single use (bicycle only, downhill only). Hobart City Council completed the works required to convert the track to single use in June 2015. Walkers are no longer allowed to use the track.
Hobart City Council has completed replacement of the ‘twin bridges’ on the Pipeline Track between Browns Road and Neika. This section of the Pipeline Track is now open to walkers and bike riders.
Hobart City Council has completed refurbishment of the interior of the toilets at The Springs.

Visitors are reminded that Pinnacle Road may occasionally be closed due to snow or ice cover, extreme fire danger, or due to a community event. Check road closures or call 6278 0200 before starting a trip to the Park.
