Drinking Water Catchment Strategy

Just under 25% of the drinking water for the Greater Hobart area is sourced from Wellington Park. A healthy, well-managed catchment produces clean water that requires minimal treatment.

The Wellington Park Drinking Water Catchment Management Strategy aims to protect the quality and quantity of water harvested from the Park. Potential threats are noted and management actions identified.

Finalised in October 2002, the strategy was prepared by Hobart Water (now replaced by TasWater) in partnership with the Trust and other stakeholders, including community and member agencies. Download the Wellington Park Drinking Water Catchment Executive Summary.

Recommendations are being implemented to ensure water quality is maintained.
